Japan – Doll’s Day
Also known as Doll Festival, Shangsi Festival and Peach Blossom Festival, it is one of the five major festivals in Japan. Originally on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, after the Meiji Restoration, it was changed to the third day of the third month of the Western calendar.
Customs: Those who have daughters at home decorate little dolls on the day, offering diamond-shaped sticky cakes and peach blossoms to express congratulations and pray for their daughters’ happiness. On this day, girls usually wear kimonos, invite playmates, eat cakes, drink white sweet rice wine, chat, laugh and play in front of the puppet altar.
March 6
Ghana – Independence Day
On March 6, 1957, Ghana became independent from the British colonists, becoming the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to break away from Western colonial rule. This day became Ghana’s Independence Day.
Events: Military parade and parade at Independence Square in Accra. Delegations from the Ghanaian Army, Air Force, Police Force, Fire Brigade, teachers and students from the school will experience parade demonstrations, and cultural and artistic groups will also perform traditional programs.

Multinational – International Women’s Day
The focus of the celebration varies in different regions, from ordinary celebrations of respect, appreciation and love for women to celebrating women’s achievements in the economic, political and social fields, the festival is a fusion of cultures in many countries.
Customs: Women in some countries may have holidays, and there are no hard and fast rules.

Multinational – St. Patrick’s Day
It originated in Ireland at the end of the 5th century to commemorate the festival of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and has now become a national holiday in Ireland.
Customs: With Irish descent all over the world, St. Patrick’s Day is now celebrated in countries such as Canada, the UK, Australia, the US and New Zealand.
The traditional color for St. Patrick’s Day is green.
March 23
Pakistan Day
On March 23, 1940, the All India Muslim League passed the resolution to establish Pakistan in Lahore. To commemorate the Lahore Resolution, the Pakistani government has designated March 23 every year as “Pakistan Day”.
March 25
Greece – National Day
On March 25, 1821, Greece’s war of independence against the Turkish invaders broke out, marking the start of the Greek people’s successful struggle to defeat the Ottoman Empire (1821-1830), and finally established an independent state. So this day is called Greece National Day (also known as Independence Day).
Events: Every year a military parade is held at the Syntagma Square in the city center.
March 26
Bangladesh – National Day
On March 26, 1971, Zia Rahman, the leader of the Eighth East Bengal Wing stationed in the Chittagong area, led his troops to occupy the Chittagong Radio Station, declared East Bengal to be independent from Pakistan, and established the Bangladesh Provisional Government. After independence, the government designated this day as National Day and Independence Day.
